Office of Research
The Office of Research
The institution's check on itself.
The Office of Research exists so that PROMACHOS instruction can be questioned from inside. It curates the literature, sets review method, drafts standards, and holds the authority to remove practices the evidence no longer supports.
Functions
Curation
The Office maintains the Research Library: selecting literature, recording level of evidence, and writing the institutional summary that accompanies each entry.
Review
The Office conducts institutional reviews to a published protocol. Every review states its search strategy and inclusion criteria before it states a conclusion.
Standards
Where evidence is sufficient, the Office drafts a PROMACHOS standard. Standards govern instruction inside the institution and are published for external scrutiny.
Governance
The Office holds the authority to withdraw a practice from the curriculum when the evidence no longer supports it. That authority is the point of the Office.
Review protocol
Method before conclusion.
- 01A question is registered with the Office, stated narrowly enough to be answerable.
- 02A search strategy is written and published before searching begins.
- 03Inclusion and exclusion criteria are fixed in advance.
- 04Each included study is graded for level of evidence and risk of bias.
- 05Findings, contested findings, and null results are reported together.
- 06The review is submitted for external scrutiny before it governs instruction.
Enquiries
Work with the Office.
Academic partnership
Universities and research groups working on decision-making under stress, combat-sport medicine, learning science, or human performance.
Data and measurement
Institutions holding training-load, head-impact, or performance data willing to collaborate under a formal agreement.
External review
Qualified reviewers prepared to scrutinise PROMACHOS methodology and standards before publication.
Correction
If an entry in the Library is misattributed, misread, or superseded, write to the Office. Corrections are made publicly.
PROMACHOS has not yet produced original data. Everything currently held in the Library is external, peer-reviewed literature curated by the Office. Read the research ethics statement.
